The primary research aim of the laboratory is to investigate how replication stress induces DNA damage in highly proliferative cell types such as B and T lymphocytes, and to understand the mechanisms maintaining genome integrity during DNA replication. The laboratory uses a combination of genetics, molecular biology, and next-generation sequencing to investigate where and how DNA damage arises, define mechanisms controlling cancer initiation and evolution, and identify novel molecular determinants underlying cancer predisposition.
