Regeneron is a biopharmaceutical company that discovers, develops, and commercializes therapeutic medicines for the treatment of serious medical conditions. Regeneron currently markets ARCALYST (rilonacept) Injection for subcutaneous use for the treatment of a rare, inherited, inflammatory condition. The company has therapeutic candidates in clinical trials for the potential treatment of cancer, eye diseases and inflammatory diseases, and has preclinical programs in other diseases and disorders.
With a strong research base and product focus, Regeneron is able to understand thoroughly the biology of specific disease states, discover potential therapeutic candidates and evaluate product candidates in clinical trials. Regeneron has developed several proprietary platform technologies, which it has incorporated into a comprehensive system that allows it to accelerate the discovery and design of fully human antibodies and move these candidates rapidly into clinical development. We have a job opening for a Process Development Associate II or Engineer I who will primarily assist in the production of toxicology campaigns and the scale-up of early stage bioreactor processes used in Regeneron's recombinant protein and antibody therapeutics. This person will also be involved in cell culture and bioreactor production efforts to produce substantial quantities of protein for research testing. He/she would be responsible for small-scale cell culture in flasks, cultivation in mammalian cells in bench and pilot scale bioreactors, aseptic technique, nutrient feed formulation and implementation, and data interpretation. He/she will interact closely with people in research as well as manufacturing, who will utilize newly developed and improved processes in Regeneron's clinical manufacturing programs. Applicants are being sought with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in chemical, biochemical, and biomedical engineering along with significant knowledge and interest in biological processes. Experience: The ideal candidate: has a foundation of basic scientific knowledge obtained through academic training and/or experience. Must be technically competent in a limited number of experimental methodologies. Begins to read and understand scientific material directly related to his/her experiments as assigned. Can effectively communicate in large or small group settings. Understands current and possible future business trends and information. Uses lab equipment including Guava and Nova in conducting experiments and processes. A Bachelor's degree (BS) from an accredited college or university as well as two or more years of related experience is required.
