Location: Brookings, SD
A Postdoctoral research position is available immediately in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at South Dakota State University in the area of reaction kinetics of fast pyrolysis process.
The key objective of this work is the study and simulation of the reaction kinetics of fast pyrolysis process. The investigation will focus in establishing kinetic models while assessing and improving their performance via comparisons with data collected on site. These models will be incorporated into the CSFMB software (Comprehensive Simulator for Fluidized and Moving Bed Equipment) with the help of the simulation author.
The position requires the ability to analyze, interpret, and summarize results, and write reports for funding sponsors and manuscripts for publication in the scientific journals or presentations in conferences.
Desired qualifications: Ph.D. in a related field, completed prior to appointment starting date, with demonstrated experience in the area of reaction kinetics of pyrolysis is required. Excellent writing skills, experience in writing scientific articles, and effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
Term of appointment: The position will be for one year beginning immediately and renewable upon performance and funding availability. Salary is up to $45K plus benefits, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Work location: The work will be conducted at South Dakota State University (SDSU) in Brookings SD (www.sdstate.edu). Brookings is a community of approximately 18,000 near the east central border of South Dakota.
