Growing biotechnology company is seeking an outstanding systems biologist to join their small-molecule drug discovery biology lab and to play a leadership role in target optimization strategy. Candidates will design experiments and produce data that will identify genomic and protein pathway targets that affect chronic diseases such as metabolic, cardiovascular, neurodegenerative and cancer disease classes. The group is highly interdisciplinary and the candidate will be responsible for working closely with bioinformatics, chemistry and other biology departments to develop successful small-molecule therapeutics.
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. preferably in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Systems Biology or a related field. Experience in a drug discovery lab is a must and candidates should have 2+ years of working in a large, inter-disciplinary pharamceutical or biotech environment along with 3+ years of other related academic or industry experience. Strong candidates will be familiar with multiplex assay development, Q/RT-PCR, high-throughput screening, mammalian experiment models and network systems biology.
