We are seeking a highly motivated person who is interested in joining a dynamic laboratory at the Weill Cornell Medical College, in New York City. We are looking for a candidate who seeks to apply state-of-the-art technology in biology, animal work and genetics. The main research interests of the lab are to explore molecular links between erythropoiesis and iron metabolism. We are interested in using agonists or activators of the iron regulator hepcidin to prevent iron-overload and study erythropoiesis in beta-thalassemia. Moreover, we plan to identify new genes involved in abnormal erythropoiesis in ß-thalassemia and Polycythemia vera.
