Molecular Therapeutics Full Time Staff Associate Job description:
Reporting to the Chief of the Division of Molecular Therapeutics, the employee will be responsible for testing compounds in cell-based G protein-coupled receptor signaling assays focused on both G protein activation and arrestin recruitment. Employee will work to streamline and optimize the current assay protocol to minimize variability and increase productivity of the assay. Additionally, employee will assist fellow lab members on their ongoing projects as needed, as well as playing a lead role in collaborative projects. Employee will assist with lab project organization and assist with training new lab members as needed.
Employee will be responsible for:
-Cell-based assays for potential new compounds: 30%
-Molecular cloning and cell line creation and maintenance for assay optimization: 30%
-Lab and project organization: 10%
-Assisting with projects from collaborators as well as projects with other members of the lab: 30%
Minimum Degree Requirement
Master degree in related field.
Knowledge and experience with tissue culture, basic molecular biology and cell transfection and creation of stably transfected cell lines, familiarity with BRET-based and luminescence based screening assays, facility with pharmacological principles and able to analyze dose response curves and apply the operational model to compare agonists.
-Master degree of Science specifically in Biology/Neurobiology.
-Prior Research Technician work experience in a research lab.
