<p class="western" style="margin-bottom: 0.35cm; line-height: 150%" align="justify"><font face="Times New Roman, serif"><font style="font-size: 12pt" size="3"><span lang="en-US">The Laboratory “Control of Metabolism” of the Ribeirão Preto Medical School, University of São Paulo (FMRP/USP), located in the Department of Biochemistry and Immunology and under the supervision of Professor Isis do Carmo Kettelhut and Professor Luiz Carlos Carvalho Navegantes, has a postdoctoral fellowship from FAPESP Thematic Project entitled "Neural, hormonal and nutritional control of autophagy".</span></font></font></p>
<p class="western" style="margin-bottom: 0.35cm; line-height: 150%" align="justify"><font face="Times New Roman, serif"><font style="font-size: 12pt" size="3"><span lang="en-US"><b>Candidate's ideal profile:</b></span></font></font></p>
<p class="western" style="margin-bottom: 0.35cm; line-height: 150%" align="justify"><font face="Times New Roman, serif"><font style="font-size: 12pt" size="3"><span lang="en-US">The candidate must have completed his PhD less than 7 (seven) years. <p class="western" style="margin-bottom: 0.35cm; line-height: 150%" align="justify"><font face="Times New Roman, serif"><font style="font-size: 12pt" size="3"><span lang="en-US">The candidate must be motivated, must have the capacity to work independently and collectively and should have held a PhD in Biological Sciences in the area of concentration: Physiology, with emphasis on skeletal striated muscle and must have wide knowledge on the intracellular biochemical mechanisms responsible for the control of protein metabolism in skeletal muscle. It is essential that the candidate has fluency in English and ability to write in English language.</span></font></font></p>
<p class="western" style="margin-bottom: 0.35cm; line-height: 150%" align="justify"><font face="Times New Roman, serif"><font style="font-size: 12pt" size="3"><span lang="en-US">In addition to experience in rat and mouse manipulation, knowledge of molecular and cellular biology methodologies is required, as well as the application of recombinant DNA techniques </span></font></font><font face="Times New Roman, serif"><font style="font-size: 12pt" size="3"><span lang="en-US"><i>in vivo</i></span></font></font><font face="Times New Roman, serif"><font style="font-size: 12pt" size="3"><span lang="en-US"> and </span></font></font><font face="Times New Roman, serif"><font style="font-size: 12pt" size="3"><span lang="en-US"><i>in vitro</i></span></font></font><font face="Times New Roman, serif"><font style="font-size: 12pt" size="3"><span lang="en-US">. Therefore, previous experience is required in the following experimental techniques: Western blotting for protein expression analysis, real-time PCR for gene expression analysis, fluorescence microscopy in muscle tissues, histology techniques in skeletal muscle with emphasis on marking/analysis of neuromuscular synapses and types of muscle fibers, primary cell culture (striated muscle tissue) and myogenic cell lines, </span></font></font><font face="Times New Roman, serif"><font style="font-size: 12pt" size="3"><span lang="en-US"><i>in vivo</i></span></font></font><font face="Times New Roman, serif"><font style="font-size: 12pt" size="3"><span lang="en-US"> electroporation in the skeletal striated muscle and </span></font></font><font face="Times New Roman, serif"><font style="font-size: 12pt" size="3"><span lang="en-US"><i>in vitro</i></span></font></font><font face="Times New Roman, serif"><font style="font-size: 12pt" size="3"><span lang="en-US"> transfection into cells for overexpression of vectors of interest, induction of models of muscular atrophy, such as sciatic motor surgical denervation, induction of insulin resistance through the model of obesity induced by the hyperlipid diet and it will be a differential the wide experience in the evaluation of the muscular function </span></font></font><font face="Times New Roman, serif"><font style="font-size: 12pt" size="3"><span lang="en-US"><i>in vivo</i></span></font></font><font face="Times New Roman, serif"><font style="font-size: 12pt" size="3"><span lang="en-US"> for standardization and implementation of new techniques in the laboratory.</span></font></font></p>

The monthly fee of the scholarship is R$ 7,373.10 and 15% of technical reserve under the annual value of the scholarship, and should be invested in items directly related to the scientific project activities. The postdoctoral fellowship lasts 2 years, with the possibility of renewal for the same period of time.
