A Postdoctoral Research Scholar position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Ryan Boudreau in the Department of Internal Medicine. Research involves:
effects of microRNAs in cardiac myopathies
mapping of microRNA binding sites in failing and non-failing human heart samples
discovering and characterizing new or understudied cardiovascular-disease related genes
myocardial metabolism, mitochondrial function and autophagy.
Research in the laboratory includes the use of mouse models, cell culture systems, large genetic and proteomic dataset bioinformatics, genetic engineering, and human tissues. Selected candidate is expected to work independently while interacting in a collaborative environment.
A Doctoral degree is required.
A strong research background in genetics, molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry and an excellent publication record is required.
