Pathology Scientist (histology technician) ( Ref Id : 19501-NP)

Description:

The successful applicant is expected to be proficient in basic necropsy / histotechnology laboratory techniques including tissue collection, processing, and embedding.

The following skills are desired, but not required: routine staining, sectioning and immunohistochemistry.

The candidate must be able to follow established standard operating procedures, read protocols, prepare appropriately labeled containers for specimen collection, coordinate collection of required tissues and specimens at necropsy, and accurately collect and record laboratory data as needed.

After appropriate preparation the candidate will inventory and ship tissues to other laboratories.

The candidate will ensure that finalized data and reports are appropriately stored.

The candidate will be expected to function in a group environment where good communication and organizational skills are required to successfully facilitate conduct of in-vivo studies.
