Job Purpose

Under the general supervision of CSISA Hub Manager in Odisha, the position will assist in the implementation of agronomy extension activities.

This position will be based out of the IRRI India Office at Bhubaneswar in Odisha, India, and may only be filled by permanent citizens of India.

Current IRRI staff are encouraged to apply and will be prioritized. 

Roles and Responsibilities

Purpose

  • To assist in performing basic activities to support experiments in the field of extension agronomy.
  • To support the production practice diagnostic survey in collaboration with KVKs partners
  • To support in preparation and maintenance of field demonstrations and other operations such as seeding, transplanting, irrigation, harvesting, drying, threshing and bagging.
  • Conducting basic monitoring of plant responses.

Engagement

  • to coordinate with farmers to gather data and conduct activities accurately.
  • to coordinate with Hub Manager to deliver on defined tasks and duties
  • to coordinate with local extension agents for the dissemination of sustainable intensification technologies

Delivery

  • Ensure accurate data collection from field trials
  • Ensure accurate production practice survey data collection and processing
  • Deliver the dissemination material to the partners and farmers
  • Assist in delivering "Training of Trainers" on sustainable intensification practices.
Qualifications

High School graduate (10th Pass) with 1 year of relevant work experience.

Skills Required

Mandatory

  • Experience in organizing Farmers meet, Knowledge of using field machines.

Preferred

  • Has basic knowledge of MS Office programs such as Word and Excel or related software
  • Has experience in rice production

Allowances

  • House-Rent Allowance: IRRI provides a house rent allowance of 40% of base pay per month.
  • Transport Allowance: A monthly transport allowance is provided to NRS as below: NRS L1: INR 2,000
  • Dearness Allowance: One Hundred and Thirteen percent (113%) of employee’s base pay.
  • Leave Travel Allowance (LTA): One-month base pay per annum, on availing minimum 2 days of vacation leave
  • Education Allowance: INR 1000/- per child per month (limited 2 children)
