As part of the R&D project we are looking for a motivated research fellow with a strong interest in bioinformatics to process and analyze genomic data. The In2Genome, a project funded by Programa P2020 [Reference CENTRO-01-0247-FEDER-017800: “In2Genome: abordagem integradora no diagnóstico de doenças genéticas”], is a co-promotion project lead by the company Coimbra Genomics, with CHUC (the central university hospital of Coimbra), and Genoinseq, Biocant’s Next-Generation sequencing unit, as co-promoters.

Qualifications and Experience
: Master degree in Bioinformatics, Biology or related fields. The candidate should possess experience in Linux, and knowledge in programming languages such as Python. Knowledge of next generation sequencing, genomics and exome analysis is an advantage. The candidate should have a critical spirit,  be autonomous and able to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Working Plan: The candidate will process and analyze exome data and will develop and implement new tools in the ExomeLoupe data interpretation platform.

job location: The work will be developed at Biocant - Associação de Transferência de Tecnologia, Cantanhede, Portugal.

legislation and regulation: The Fellowship are granted under the conditions stated by the Law Nº. 40/2004, august 2018 (Status of Scientific Research Fellow); Regulation of Advanced Formation and Qualification of Human Resources of FCT and the Regulation of Fellowships of Biocant.

Duration of the fellowship: The appointment will be for 7 months till the end of the project (30th June 2019), pending evaluation of working progress. The fellowship is expected to start in the beginning of December 2018.

Monthly stipend: According to the regulations of the FCT Scientific Fellowships in Portugal (€980.00/month) (http://alfa.fct.mctes.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores).

Selection Methods: The selection method will include a CV evaluation (60%), reference letter (10%) and motivation letter (10%). The candidates will be ranked and the top list candidates may be called for an interview (20%). 

Composition of The selection Jury: Doctor Conceição Egas, Doctor Maria José Simões and Doctor Isaura Simões.

Form of notification of results: All applicants will be notified of final results via email.
