Cancer Bioinformatics - PhD

Location: Ferrara, Italy

The laboratory of Cancer Systems seeks a highly motivated undergraduate willing to obtain his/her PhD in molecular biology of cancer (3-years) . The lab's mission is to benefit patients with cancer through the discovery and development of novel therapeutic and prognostic technologies and has a translational focus on non-coding RNA in cancer.  A fellowship will be issued for three years in pursue of the PhD thesis (Dottorato).

 Highlights:
  • Translational research within an  academic biomedical center.
  • Validation and discovery-based translational research.
  • Potential to partner in development of intellectual property with application in molecular oncology.

The Candidate:
  •   Hands-on expertise in the following (at least one required):
- Next generation sequencing (wet or in-silico)
- Programming  – R, python.

Responsibilities:
  • Programming/Data analysis
  • in vitro cellular and molecular studies
  • Manuscript and PhD thesis preparation
Qualifications:
  • Successful applicants will have a degree (5- years, or MSc level)  in molecular biology, bioinformatics, molecular oncology, computational biology, or  comparable.
