Postdoctoral Associate

A NIH-funded Postdoctoral Associate position is available in the Neuroepigenetics and Addiction Laboratory at the University of Connecticut. The lab focuses on cell type-specific epigenetic mechanisms of mental disorders (particular drug addiction) using a number of approaches such as, preclinical behavioral models (drug self-administration, conditioned place preference, fear conditioning, etc.), cell type-specific viral-mediated gene transfer (gene knockdown, DREADDs), retrograde labeling (CAV2, rAAV-retro), transgenic rodents, molecular and cellular techniques, and drug discovery.

The applicant should possess a Ph.D. degree in neuroscience, molecular biology or a similar field. Solid communication, teamwork, organizational and problem-solving skills are required. Previous experience in behavioral and molecular research is preferred.  Responsibilities will include leading projects, data processing, drafting manuscript and assisting with grant applications for the lab.
