Post-Doctoral Position - Molecular Entomology

There is a Post-Doctoral position on Molecular Entomology opened at the Department of Entomology and Acarology, ESALQ, University of São Paulo, to join a multidisciplinary group of researchers from FUNDECITRUS developing a project on the Biotechnological approaches to the control of citrus Huanglongbing using transgenic plants”. The position is initially for a 1 yr term, with the possibility of renewal for an extra year. There is also a possibility to make use of funds to support installation.

We are seeking for a self-motivated, independent researcher with experience in the field of molecular biology, and training in the use of iRNA design and delivery for insect pest control and on the use of bioinformatic tools for insect transcriptome assembly and analyses. The PD will be involved with the processing of NGS sequencing data, dsRNA design and synthesis, and the development of iRNA delivery mechanisms for pest control. All activities will be carried out at the Department of Entomology and Acarology, ESALQ/USP, in Piracicaba, under the supervision of Prof. Fernando Luís Cônsoli.

Funds are made available by FAPESP, Brazil, project number 2015/07011-3, coordinated by Dr. Leandro Peña (Fundecitrus).
