The Division of Molecular Therapeutics of the Department of Psychiatry is seeking to fill a full time Associate Research Scientist position.
Candidates for the position must have a PhD, MD or equivalent degree and possess experience with standard and advanced molecular biology methods, with particular emphasis on stem cell culture and neuronal differentiation. Imaging and data analysis. > 15years experience Molecular cloning, plasmid purification and validation, neuronal cell and tissue culture, biopsy handling and processing is also required. Experience with clinical research corrdination and database maintenance is strongly recommended.
The candidate will conduct research on patient derived iPSC lines for neuronal differentiation and determine the disease endophenotypes and mechanisms
Qualifications: The candidate needs experience with standard molecular biology methods, with particular emphasis on RNA. The candidate must also have experience with next gen RNA library preparation, sequencing and data analysis. The candidate must have experience with mouse surgery and behavioral assays. The candidate must have experience with in vivo electrophysiology. Experience with grant writing is recommended.
