Associate Research Scientist

Description: The Department of Psychiatry, Division of Molecular Therapeutics, at Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons is seeking to fill a full-time Associate Research Scientist position.  The Associate Research Scientist will work on a project that studies the impact of the 22q11.2 microdeletion on disease phenotypes related to psychosis and will explore high-throughput drug screening studies in the 22q11.2 Deletion Syndrome-associated psychosis model.

Duties: Under the supervision of the PI, the Associate Research Scientist will plan, execute and document a variety of experiments assessing the cortical neuron disease phenotypes in mutant mice with the 22q11.2 microdeletion and will perform high-throughput drug screening experiments in this mouse model.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in Neuroscience with at least 4 years of postdoctoral experience.  Experience in cell biology, working with mouse embryonic stem cells and cellular imaging. Strong skills in immunohistochemistry, confocal microscopy, RNA sequencing and high-throughput drug screening are desired.
