The laboratory of Dr. Louis-Eric Trudeau at the Université de Montréal departments of pharmacology and neurosciences presently has an opening for one postdoctoral fellow interested in research on the dopamine system. The project, supported by the Brain Canada and Krembil Foundations focuses on acting on mitochondria and cellular bioenergetics to promote the resilience of dopamine neurons in the context of Parkinson’s disease.

  • The project will take advantage of primary dopamine neuron cultures, viral transduction techniques, the use of genetically modified mice, the measurement of mitochondrial bioenergetics and confocal microscopy. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual that has completed a Ph.D. degree in biochemistry, neuroscience or related fields, has published as a first author and already has some research experience in molecular and biochemical techniques. Interested candidates should contact Dr. Louis-Eric Trudeau by email (louis-eric.trudeau(at)umontreal.ca) and should state their career plans and include a CV and most recent university transcript.
