A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Bhagwat Prasad at University of Washington (UW), Seattle, WA in the area of pediatric physiologically-based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modeling. The laboratory is working on mechanisms of age-dependent variability in drug disposition and response towards pediatric precision medicine. The NIH funded translational research project will utilize interdisciplinary approaches such as in vitro drug metabolism and transport studies, bioanalysis of drugs and enzymes/transporters in biological matrices by quantitative mass spectrometry, clinical PK analysis and PBPK/PD modeling. The candidate is expected to have prior experience of PBPK software tools e.g., Phoenix WinNonlin, SimCyp or Matlab with familiarity to standard in vitro drug metabolism/transport techniques. The successful candidate will develop and execute experimental procedures, interpret data, present results at scientific conferences and prepare manuscripts for publication. The candidate will have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Exciting research environment, state-of-the-art equipment/software and facilities are available at UW School of Pharmacy. This position is available for two years with the possibility of extension.
A Ph.D. degree in pharmacokinetics, drug metabolism, drug transport or bioanalysis is required. The applicant must have at least one first-author publication in peer-reviewed journals to be considered.
