The Hybrid Systems Lab at the University of Central Florida is recruiting for a surface chemistry research associate. This research technician will be working in a collaborative research environment and should have skills commensurate with surface modifications with Self-Assembled Monolayers, surface analysis techniques, such as XPS, Auger, SEM and AFM, as well as cross-disciplinary interactions with biologists and writing and editing manuscripts/presentations.
A bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience. Appropriate college coursework may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience. If minimum requirements of the position do not require post high school education, an applicant is not required to provide the information on the application.
Would prefer someone with a Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Bioengineering, Chemistry, Materials Science or a related field, with at least one year of experience and strong organizational and interpersonal/written/ verbal skills; or a Bachelor of Science in the above disciplines with at least 4 years of appropriate experience.
Experience with confocal microscopy is a plus.
